Project Planning & Control - Duration 1 Day
Project personnel require a broad range of techniques and skills to help them to effectively and accurately manage and control their projects. Techniques such as practical planning, estimating, monitoring, forecasting and controlling of projects are all areas that are of prime importance in making projects successful.
This short course is designed to provide delegates with a range of technical project management skills. It will allow delegates to develop their skills in planning, organising and controlling their projects through exercises and simulations.

Course topics include Work and Scope Definition, Project Planning, Resource Management, Project Monitoring & Control and The Use of Software Tools.
At the end of the course delegates will be familiar with compiling, reviewing and changing the 4 main planning documents - Network Diagrams, Gantt Charts, Resource Histograms and S-Curves.

target audience
This course is designed for those who need to compile, use or review project plans. It can also be delivered as a project-specific workshop to engage a project team in the process.

overview
This course provides all the necessary technical skills for those who need to define the work, identify tasks, use logic, identify milestones, estimate durations and resources, identify resource requirements and prepare a baseline plan - using Network Diagrams, Gantt Charts, Histograms and S-Curves.  The course also covers essential progress measurement and forecasting techniques.

To establish methods of preparing budgets and realistic targets
To utilise techniques which will allow comprehensive management of project resources
To produce accurate workable plans with detailed cost, time and resource breakdowns
